pushing letters

whether or not it was my fatigue or the fact
i finished my artwork, i rocked this sketch in
a few minutes, keeping everything really loose,
allowing my ideas to flow, rather then structuring
any real formation to my piece. there is a definite
futurism influence and for some reason there is
some old school 3D appeal to it.

there’s been a huge gap in time since i’ve sketched
a piece, so i suppose this borrows more from the
art styles i’ve been experimenting with lately.
a friend of mine said i “need to do new things”
with my letters, so hopefully this one off sketch
sets me on that track.

this is one of the first elaborate sketches i’ve
done in quite some time. these big drawings are
more fun than single characters but i just can’t
find the time to finish them.

i’ll probably finish this in a week or two…

refining this style

haven’t done any sketches in awhile, due to my
heavy work load and my lack of patience.

simplified complexities

haven’t churned out a decent sketch in a long time.
i’ve been so busy that this has been sitting in my book
for a decent couple of weeks now. mixed medias here,
quite obviously i rushed it and left it savagely beaten
around the edges. i should probably not use such thin
paper when applying water and acrylics.

not sure how i feel about it.

crazy wings

it was a nice sunny day today so i decided to stay
inside and paint. there’s a lot of things i hate about
this and a few things i like. just some washed down
acrylics and white out. i want to use colour more, but
i never have the patience.

i haven’t done a decent sketch in a long while due to design work.
now i finally have the time to sit down and draw again. figured i’d
oil my creative gears with a simple sketch with overused subject
matter; youth, graffiti, smoking, street culture etc.

ORGAN sketch

a sketch battle with some of the boys.
tried a new effect here, where i’ve sliced the piece
in particular spots, it’s still in early development, but
it doesn’t work without 3Ds.

took me a lot longer than expected,
but i had to balance out the heavy 3D’s
with some fancy rendering.
i was going to do something more fun
and easy, but i got carried away…

this is how i sketch pieces nowadays. keeping the ideas
loose and nothing definite. today’s piece was suppose to
resemble this. i think i only looked at it once, before
freestyling it all after wards. mainly because it blew away
after my first glance…
