Caught You LookingI wonder what people think when they see me. That’s the worst part of street photography isn’t it? Being seen? It’s like staring at an attractive creature and then that creature turning to stare straight back at you. That’s the worst feeling, but you pretend to be looking past them or quickly shift your glance to an entirely different angle hoping they didn’t realise, but you totally know they noticed. Real smooth kid.Kids probably think you’re a cyclops or a one-eyed android. More mature people might think you’re some kind of weirdo or sexual predator, who captures people to go back home and have a bat over. Either way there’s that split second in between realisation and unawareness. Just before they cringe or being to ponder ‘what the hell is this guy doing?’. That wide-eyed shock look always makes for good laughs. Like those photos you have of your mates at parties with their trousers down, too wasted to realise you’d just taken a shot. Yeah, those ones, the ones you keep to show their kids in future.Kodak 200 / MG-1
